Biography*  Grandma Savary's father's name was Hubert Plourde 1825-1878. He was married twice and had two sets of families. He was married to Josephe Robida -1854. They had 7 children born in Canada. When his wife died, he migrated to United States. One of them I am told is still alive.
He then married again, and his 2nd wife's name was Julia (Julie) Morin -1823. They had 7 children, of which my grandmother was one. ( I see that my last email to you was in error. Grandma and Savary had 7 siblings not just Joe, Nels, and Julia.) This is all the information we ever had on grandma's side. However, from the people who visited us last summer, found out more. In fact, I have the Plourde family tree all the way back to the 1550's. What is listed are names and dates in order of births and marriages. Nothing else as to when they migrated from France to Canada. Way back in the family tree, their name was De Plourd. May be that was when they were living in France, and they dropped the "De" when then came to U.S. We were always told they came from Paris, but who knows?1

CENSUS1870*1870 He appeared on the census in 1870 at Benton, WI, Unfortunately he is difficult to find as the census shows his surname as Hubert with given name of Plourd. However, he is truly on page 7 of the La Fayette County census.6

Note* She is elusive. Harriett Eslinger writes: Mary Josephine, the elusive…..I have been trying to find her for years to no avail. If only….. You have her birth info. In 1879, her stepmother made a list of all the children of both marriages for the probate court and said that she was Josephine Peyton living in Texas. That is the best I can do.2
