Biography*  Edward and Brigid Ennis -- Edward Thomas En-
nis, son of James and Elizabeth Crawford Ennis,
settled his family in Section 6 of Logan Township in
1884. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada,
December 24, 1841. In 1852 the family moved to
Scott County, Iowa. Mr. Ennis married Brigid Egan
at Rock Island, Illinois, February 17, 1863. She was
born in County Longford, Ireland, August 5, 1836.
Her parents died during the Potato Famine” in
Ireland, and two young brothers brought her to the
United States. The family continued to farm in Lo-
gan Township, and Mr. Ennis also formed a part-
nership with Mr. Cizek in March 1888 in a clothing
store in Holstein. E.T. Ennis died February 8,1894,
in Holstein. Brigid Ennis died July 24, 1926, in Le-
Mars at the home of her nephew, Father Leonard
Cooper.
