| Death* | 19 January 1946 | She is buried at Spring Grove Cemetery Sec. 113, Lot 6. At the time of her death she was living in her parents home at 3828 Reading Road. According to Laura Steneck, ADDIE got the house when her father died. I don't think Laura inherited until Addie died, although Laura and Jay were living there...and Addie died at 3828.... Now Addie was left quite well off when Will Cochran died, so she may have transferred 3828 to her sister, so long as she could continue to live there until her death. Addied died in 1946. She was "laid out" in the music room at 3828. I remember going over there for her "wake" with mother and daddy.1 |

Mrs. Julia Woodrough wore a handsome toilet of lavender crepe de chine with violets at her corsage. Mrs. James Woodrough wore her wedding gown and carried pink roses. | Note* | 2003 | She Here's LWS's account of her grandmother: grandmother Woodrough lost it all in the stock market. She didn't trust the judgement of her broker, thought she could do it better, and ended up losing it all! I heard years ago that Jay's brother, Louis D. had borrowed over $50,000.00.and never repaid the loan. From what I have gleaned over the years, if it hadn't been for a Hollmeyer relative, Laura would have ended up at the Salvation Army home for women. It was her best friend Irene Buchert, I think her name was, that kept her in funds and food until her death. Laura gave a string of pearls to MVW in 2005. The pearls had a platinum clasp with the date of her child's birth inscribed. The pearls were fake. Laura surmised that her grandmother sold the real pearls when she needed money and replaced them with fakes. MVW had real pearls put with the clasp and gave them to Elena Woodrough. So ends the story of keep up apprearances. in 2003. |

Also, in your information on Rootsweb, you have noted that Irene Buchert and Richmond Joseph Hollmeyer had a child, Margaret Hollmeyer, and that Margaret Hollmeyer married James Fish. James’s correct name is James Sanford FISK, Sr. James and Margaret are my grandparents. James and Margaret had 6 children, one of which is my mother. Likewise, James’ father was Harley B. FISK as well. I just thought I would clarify that for you. If you have any additional contacts, sources, or information you are willing to share about anyone in this family, I would be extremely grateful. I am trying to obtain as much information as possible so that I can construct an accurate genealogy of my family. Thank you, Megan Hatch. |
